Over 20 years of practical water management experience

Recent clients

Our experience includes:

  • Implementation of (and ongoing support for) numerous GoldSim water balance and chemical mass balance models for mine sites at all stages spanning pre-feasibility through operations and into closure

  • Water management infrastructure planning – ponds/dams, channels, water treatment, sediment control, pump and pipe reticulation

  • Numerical groundwater and analytical surface water modelling projects

  • Development and implementation of practical surface water designs

  • Pit dewatering and depressurisation

  • Internal and regulatory reporting including Water Accounting Framework (WAF), Internal Tailings Review Board (ITRB), Geotechnical Review Board (GRB) and International Cyanide Management Code.

Our team is lead by Simon Sholl, a hydrogeologist with over 20 years of practical water management experience on mining projects across a wide range of geological and climate zones at sites located in Africa, South America, North America, Australia, Asia and Europe.

Simon is a contributor to the CSIRO, Large Open Pit (LOP) Guidelines for Evaluating Water in Pit Slope Stability and the University of Arizona Geotechnical Centre for Excellence course: Water in Mine Operations and Slope Stability.
